Marino Lopez, 24, Killed in Stockton Hit-and-Run on California Street Near Wyandotte
STOCKTON, CA (November 7, 2021) – Marino Lopez was killed after a hit-and-run crash near California Street and Wyandotte Street in Stockton.
Police identified the 24-year-old Fresno man as the victim of the fatal collision which took place on Saturday evening.
The incident happened when Marino Daniel Lopez was walking across California Street near Wyandotte Street in Stockton. For an unknown reason, a vehicle struck him as he tried to cross four lanes of traffic.
Police said the pedestrian fell and then ran over by another car. The CBS Sacramento wrote that the accident occurred on November 6 at around 7 p.m.
Pedestrian Hit by Cars
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found Marino Lopez left lying on the ground. He sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Meanwhile, police afformed that both drivers did not stop to render aid to the man and fled the area.
They described the suspect cars as a dark-colored SUV and dark-colored sedan. Officers are still searching for the hit-and-run motorists who fatally injured Marino Lopez.
The Stockton hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
