Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-5
BURBANK, Calif. (June 20, 2023) – Mario
Liborio Aguilar, 30, died early Saturday in a multi-vehicle crash on the Interstate 5 Freeway in Burbank.
The deadly crash occurred on the northbound Golden State Freeway around 3:05 a.m. on Saturday, June 17th, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office.
Mario Liborio Aguilar was in one of the vehicles involved in the crash, just east of Burbank Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At least four vehicles were involved in the collision, the CHP said. The initial report stated a green Dodge Ram was stopped in the No. 2 lane with its hazard lights on. Next, a blue Mazda crashed into the stalled pickup truck. Two other vehicles were also involved, but there are no further details.
Paramedics with the Burbank Fire Department responded to help those involved. However, Mario Aguilar died at the scene due to multiple blunt traumatic injuries.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the Burbank crash on the 5 Freeway.
