MARIPOSA, California (April 5, 2016)- Per the Merced Sun-Star, a deadly head-on crash resulted in the deaths of two motorists Tuesday afternoon along Highway 140.
At around 1:00 p.m., the driver of a 2011 Honda CRV traveling eastbound crashed head-on with a westbound Dodge Caravan after the Honda crossed over the double yellow lines.
The driver of the Dodge, Tony Lane Record, 56, and the driver of the Honda, Melissa Anne Carter, 47, both sustained fatal injuries.
A passenger in Record’s Dodge identified as Tim Todd Hartley, 48, was seriously injured with a confirmed broken hip among other injuries as well. He was flown to Modesto Hospital.
Police officials did not disclose whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the incident.
