Woman, 35, Identified as Victim of Multi-Vehicle Collision
LANCASTER, Calif. (June 10, 2024) – Marisa Franco, 35, died Sunday night in a multiple-vehicle collision at East Avenue J, just east of 255th Street East in Lancaster.
A witness called 911 to report the collision to the California Highway Patrol at 10:24 p.m., the CHP report and MyNewsLA said.
CHP dispatchers sent police to the crash scene and they located the injured woman. She was a passenger in one of three vehicles.
Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics pronounced Marisa Franco dead at the scene at 11:06 p.m., police said.
Meanwhile, police say one vehicle fled the scene after it collided with a black Toyota sedan. Also, a third vehicle was located roughly 300 feet from the roadway. The abandoned vehicle is believed to be stolen because it had its rear window broken and the ignition punched out.
It’s unknown at this time what led up to the multi-vehicle collision.
Finally, the case remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol to determine fault.
