Motorcyclist Mark Anderson, 52, Killed in Los Alamos Crash on Bell Street
LOS ALAMOS, CA (June 3, 2021) – Mark Anderson was killed after a motorcycle crash on Bell Street in Los Alamos.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 52-year-old Buellton man as the victim of the fatal wreck which occurred on Monday afternoon.
The incident began when Mark Anderson was riding a 2003 Harley-Davidson on Bell Street near Cat Canyon Road in Los Alamos. At the same time, a Honda Civic was going south after exiting Highway 101.
Its driver, 21-year-old Luis Silva Lopez, pulled into a driveway, stopped and faced south. The Santa Maria resident then tried to make a U-turn, directly in front of the motorcyclist.
CHP said the rider swerved slightly to the left in an attempt to avoid a collision. In the process, he lost control of his motorcycle and collided with the side of the Civic.

Mark Anderson ended up ejected from his bike as a result of the crash. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene.
KSBY News and Noozhawk wrote that the accident took place on May 31. The two crashed at around 3:50 p.m. near Cat Canyon Road.
Meanwhile, Luis Silva Lopez did not sustain any injury following the wreck. Loved ones set up GoFundMe page to help cover the funeral expenses of the motorcyclist.
The cause of the Los Alamos crash is still under investigation.
