Mark Keach Killed, Logan Keach Critically Injured in Merced County Head-On Crash
MERCED COUNTY, CA (July 1, 2022) – A crash killed Mark Keach and critically injured Logan Keach on Vincent Road in Merced County.
The California Highway Patrol identified the Atwater men as victims of the fatal wreck which took place on Tuesday.
The incident happened when Mark Keach, 56, was driving a Chevrolet Cruze with Logan Keach, 21, and a teenage boy in Merced County. They were traveling north on North Vincent Road at the time.
For an unknown reason, an Infiniti SUV going south went off the shoulder. Its driver, 44-year-old Mercedes Adams, over-corrected and then crossed into the northbound lane.
2 Cars Collide
In the process, the SUV slammed head-on into the Chevrolet near West Harding Road. CHP said the Cruze caught fire due to the impact of the collision.
The Merced Sun Star and Turlock Journal wrote that the accident occurred on June 28 at around 8:30 a.m. Mark Keach died at the scene of the crash near Delhi.
His son, Logan Keach, and his other child, a 17-year-old boy, ended up suffering from serious injuries following the wreck.
CHP added that Mercedes Adams and her passenger, 20-year-old Jasmine Dontz, survived the incident with major injuries. Both are from Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Air ambulances soon took all four patients to area hospitals in critical condition. Meanwhile, the cause of Merced County crash is still under investigation.
