Pickup Truck, Motorcycle Crash on Altamount Pass Road
ALAMEDA COUNTY, Calif. (Oct. 15, 2018) — Mark Nida, 63, of Pleasanton was identified as the motorcyclist died Sunday afternoon in a collision with a heavy-duty pickup truck on Altamont Pass Road in Tracy, according to SF Gate.
The crash was reported about 4:50 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14th., near the intersection with West Grant Line Road. Police issued a SigAlert after the collision due to heavy traffic.
The driver of a silver Ford F-250 pickup truck collided with the Harley Davidson motorcycle causing the bike to veer off the roadway.
The California Highway Patrol reported the two vehicles collided in the 13700 block of Altamont Pass Road, causing the Harley Davidson motorcycle to go off the roadway and down a nearby ravine. Mark Nida and one person who was in the pickup truck was transported to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley. Nida later died of his injuries at the hospital.

Police are reviewing the facts of this case to determine fault.
