Mark Richard Evans, 69, Killed in Pedestrian Crash at Morro Bay and Bernardo
MORRO BAY, CA (July 16, 2021) – Mark Richard Evans was killed after a pedestrian accident near Morro Bay Boulevard and Bernardo Avenue.
Police identified the 69-year-old Twain Harte man as the victim of the fatal crash which occurred on Thursday in Morro Bay.
The incident began when Mark Richard Evans was crossing Morro Bay Boulevard at the intersection with Bernardo Avenue. For an unknown reason, a Mission County Disposal Truck hit him.
Man Hit by Garbage Truck
Morro Bay police said the garbage truck struck the pedestrian on July 15. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then found the victim lying in the roundabout.
Mark Evans died at the scene of the pedestrian collision. The Tribune and KSBY News wrote that the accident took place at about 12:10 p.m.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver of the truck stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the victim. The cause of the tragic crash is still under investigation.
