
Man, 52, Riding Bicycle Struck and Killed on SR-67 is Identified
LAKESIDE, Calif. (July 19, 2024) — Mark Allen Tieso, 52, of Lakeside, died in a bicycle accident on July 5th while crossing State Route 67 in Lakeside.
The deadly collision occurred at around 3:47 p.m. on the northbound SR-67, just north of Mapleview Street, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
The report stated the 52-year-old man was riding a bicycle from east to west across State Route 67 when he was hit by a gray SUV.
The driver had attempted to avoid hitting the bicyclist by switching from the fast lane to the No. 2 lane, but was unable to avoid impact.
Meanwhile, paramedics responded and despite efforts to save the man’s life he died at the scene at 4:13 p.m., the medical examiner reported. Mark Tieso was later identified by the medical examiner.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the bicycle accident on State Route 67 in Lakeside.
