DUI Suspect Hits Woman on East Highland Street Tuesday
San Bernardino, CA (October 16, 2020) – A 28-year-old woman suffered serious injuries following a hit-and-run collision triggered by an intoxicated driver Tuesday afternoon.
According to an article published by FOX11, a suspected DUI driver struck Marlen Benitez in a parking lot located in the 4200 block of East Highland Street. The accident took place shortly before 3:20 p.m.
Our sources indicated Benitez was working behind her fruit cart near the Walmart on Highland Avenue. Due to the alleged intoxication of the driver of a dark colored Chevy Tahoe, the motorist plowed right into Benitez.

Per local news source, Benitez suffered life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash. Responding paramedics rushed the victim to a hospital, where she was listed on critical condition.
