Marquise Smith Dead After Collision on Highway 41 Saturday
Fresno, CA (August 21, 2021) – Marquise Smith, a 23-year-old man, died following a car crash that occurred on Highway 41.
According to Your Central Valley, a vehicle was traveling in the streets of Fresno Saturday afternoon. When the car approached the area near O Street offramp, the driver swerved and slammed into the center median. The make and model of the car involved in the unfortunate event have not been revealed thus far.
Emergency crews arrived at the crash site shortly after 2 p.m. First responders found the car engulfed in flames.
Passenger Killed, Driver Hospitalized in Fresno Car Crash [August 21]
Firefighters at the scene worked extensively to extricate both the driver, and Marquise Smith. An ambulance rushed both injured parties to Community Regional Medical Center, where the passenger sadly succumbed to his injuries and died. Officials confirmed the identity of the deceased as Marquise Smith, of Fresno.
Meanwhile, the driver stayed at the hospital for treatment.
Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to investigate the precise cause of the car crash on Highway 41 in Fresno.
