1 Killed in Helendale Crash with Big Rig Truck
HELENDALE, California (Sept. 14, 2018) – Martin Fisher, 34, of Los Angeles, was killed and his passenger seriously injured early Friday in a motorcycle accident on National Trails Highway, just north of Vista Drive, according to a police report.
The California Highway Patrol officers responded to the crash between his 2017 Harley Davidson motorcycle and a big rig truck. The truck reportedly changed lanes and ran over the motorcyclist and his passenger.
The driver and his passenger, a 41-year-old woman, had been thrown off the bike and were laying on the road. Fisher died at the scene of the crash, but the woman suffered major injuries and was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center.
CHP officers are investigating this tragedy to determine what led to the crash.
Helendale Accident Investigation
A full investigation into what caused this collision is underway.
We extend our condolences to the family of Martin Fisher as they cope with this tragic news.
There are many steps that should be taken following a collision involving a possible wrongful death. Once police confirm the whether or not the driver is responsible for the crash, a police report must be obtained and family members will use this information to begin pursing a claim. There are certainly many financial losses that can impact a family such as medical bills, but also compensation for pain and suffering may be sought.
