One Killed; One Injured in Hesperia Car Accident
HESPERIA, Calif. (April 9, 2026) — Martin Ramirez, 60, of Hesperia, was killed in a two-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning at Main Street and Balsam Avenue in Hesperia, authorities said.
A 23-year-old man from the second car was injured in the collision at 6:25 a.m. on April 8, 2026, police said. Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and crews from the county fire department responded to reports of the crash.
Ramirez was found unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a blue 2015 Toyota Camry and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old driver of a gray Toyota Camry managed to exit his vehicle and was found standing nearby when first responders arrived. He suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities said both vehicles sustained significant damage in the collision. Investigators noted particularly severe impact to the blue Camry as its roof was completely crushed.
Westbound lanes of Main Street were shut down for several hours following the crash as officials investigated and cleared the scene. The vehicles were removed at approximately 11:30 a.m.
According to the sheriff’s department, drugs or alcohol do not appear to have played a role in the crash. The cause remains under investigation.
