Martin Sanford and Clovis Police Officer Injured in DUI Crash

CLOVIS (June 29, 2018) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after an alleged DUI accident in the area of San Jose and Minnewawa avenues late Thursday night, according to The Fresno Bee and ABC 30.

The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Martin Sanford.

As per the reports, California Highway Patrol said Stacey Home was driving a 1997 Toyota east on San Jose Avenue when at the same time a Clovis police officer was headed north on Minnewawa Avenue in a 2009 Dodge.

The 46-year-old Clovis woman allegedly ran the stop sign and drove into the path of the police vehicle. After the two cars collided, the Dodge then jumped a curb and struck Sanford at about 11:15 p.m.

Stacey Home Arrested For DUI

Sanford was knocked to the ground upon impact. He was immediately transported to Community Regional Medical Center to be treated for major injuries.

The patrol unit came to a stop after crashing into a tree and nearby fence. The police officer was reportedly hospitalized with scraps and bruises but was later released. His name was not disclosed.

Meanwhile, Home was arrested on charges of driving under the influence.
