Bicyclist Injured in Martinez Hit-and-Run Crash at Pacheco and Morello
MARTINEZ, CA (November 19, 2021) – A bicyclist was injured after a hit-and-run crash at Pacheco Boulevard and Morello Avenue in Martinez.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Friday night. Officers reported the collision shortly after 9:30 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the bicycle rider for an unknown reason in Martinez. The driver hit the victim at the intersection of Pacheco Boulevard and Morello Avenue.
Bicycle Rider Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene in front of an apartment complex. They soon found the cyclist lying on the ground and who complained of pain as a result of the wreck.
Medical personnel then provided treatment to the bicyclist for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the incident. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to help the rider and fled the area. Officers forced the intersection of Pacheco and Morello to shut down following the collision.
The cause of the Martinez hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
