CHP Officers Injured After Car Accident on 680 Freeway
DATE OF COLLISION: Sunday, April 14th
April 15, 2019 – Two California Highway Patrol officers were injured following a car accident on the Interstate 680 Freeway early Sunday, the East Bay Times reported.
Per article, a suspected drunk driver crashed into the rear of a patrol car while both vehicles were traveling south on the interstate.
Minor Injury Car Accident in Martinez Sunday
Medical personnel arrived at the location shortly after 5 a.m. and found two CHP officers hurt as a result of the wreck. Both patients were transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries, officials said.
A short time after the incident, the 22-year-old man driving the civilian car was arrested suspicion of driving under the influence. The name of the DUI suspect has not been disclosed thus far.
Investigators handling the case continue to work to determine exactly what happened here and why.
