Man Killed in Martinez Crash on Cummings Skyway Tuesday
MARTINEZ (December 25, 2018) – A man was killed after a traffic collision in the area of Cummings Skyway on Tuesday morning, according to NBC Bay Area and SF Gate.
The deadly accident was reported on December 25 at about 10:43 a.m., just north of Highway 4.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said a woman was driving a Ford sedan on Cummings Skyway when for an unknown reason she veered off the road and onto a dirt shoulder.
The female motorist then overcorrected and crossed into the oncoming traffic where she collided with a Nissan Xterra.

CHP affirmed that the male driver of the Xterra was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the woman was taken to the hospital to be treated for major but non-life-threatening injuries. Her identity and condition at this time were also not available.
The road was forced to shut down and was ultimately reopened at around 1:30 p.m. The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
