CHULA VISTA, Calif. (June 5, 2023) – Mary Ryan Bond, 45, of Oxnard, died in a crash on the Interstate 805 Freeway and Telegraph Canyon Road in Chula Vista.
The two-vehicle collision occurred around 10:20 p.m. on Saturday, May 27th, according to an article published by the San Diego Union Tribune.
The Oxnard woman was riding as a passenger in a Chevrolet SUV traveling on the southbound Interstate 805 Freeway when it collided with a southbound Toyota pickup truck. The collision occurred just north of the Telegraph Canyon Road undercrossing, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
During the crash, both of the vehicles overturned and the woman was ejected from the Chevrolet and landed in an adjacent embankment. One of the vehicles also hit a light pole.
Police and paramedics responded and unfortunately, Mary Bond was pronounced death at the scene. A second person was treated for undisclosed injuries and taken to a hospital.
The cause of the fatal Chula Vista crash is still under investigation by the CHP.
