Mary Corning, 56, Killed in Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 23, 2021) – A pedestrian crash killed Mary Corning at Truxtun Avenue and Haley Street in Bakersfield.
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office identified the 56-year-old woman as the victim of the collision which took place last week on Friday.
The incident happened on June 18 when a vehicle struck Mary Elizabeth Corning for an unknown reason in Bakersfield. The driver hit her at the intersection of East Truxtun Avenue and Haley Street.

Kern Golden Empire wrote that the accident occurred shortly after 10 p.m. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found the woman lying on the road.
Police said Mary Corning sustained major injuries as a result of the pedestrian crash. Medical personnel soon pronounced her dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver involved stopped after hitting the victim. The motorist stayed at the site and cooperated with the officers.
The fatal Bakersfield pedestrian collision is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the police at 661-327-7111.
