Woman, 93, Killed in Crash is Identified
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (May 19, 2023) – Mary Margaret Machulda, 93, of Fountain Valley, died in a crash on Magnolia Street on May 11th in Huntington Beach.
The two-vehicle collision occurred about 4:40 p.m. at the intersection of Magnolia Street and Garfield Avenue, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.
Mary Machulda was driving a Buick Rivera northbound on Magnolia Street. She reportedly made a left-hand turn in front of an oncoming southbound Jeep Wrangler.
Paramedics responded and rushed her to UCI Medical Center where she later died, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
The 48-year-old Huntington Beach man driving the Jeep stopped following the crash and cooperated with the police investigation. He did not report any injuries at the time.
Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
