Mary Martindale, 85, Injured in Pit Bull Dog Attack on Morro Road

woman attacked by dogATASCADERO, California (July 19, 2016) — Mary Martindale , 85, of Atascadero was mauled by a pit bull dog Friday morning on Morrow Road near Highway 101 in San Luis Obispo County, according to a report by KSBY 6 News.

Martindale was walking to the bank about 9 a.m. when she passed by the dog on its leash with its owner, but the animal lunged at her and big her left arm.

She was taken to hospital where she underwent surgery to repair the damage as the vicious dog left her with a deep wound that went down to her bone. The injured women was in hospital overnight due to the severity of the injury.

The dog was scheduled to be euthanized by animal control officers and its owner was arrested on a violation to their parole.
