Authorities identity victim killed in Harbor Freeway car accident
LOS ANGELES (Nov. 15, 2021) – Mary Sims, 67, died in a pedestrian accident early Monday morning on the Harbor (110) Freeway at Florence Avenue in South Los Angeles.
A motorist reportedly struck the woman just after 12:15 a.m. on the southbound Harbor Freeway. The collision happened at the Florence Avenue off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but sadly the woman was pronounced dead upon their arrival. Her city of residence is unknown at this time. The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner identified Mary Sims on their website and noted her death was an accident.
There are no further details available at this time about the victim or circumstances.
Meanwhile, police issued a SigAlert and closed down the 110 Freeway’s southbound number 4 and 5 lanes at the Florence Avenue off-ramp.
Investigators seek to determine liability for the deadly pedestrian accident.
