Woman, 57, Killed in Head-On Crash at Highway 70 and Saddleback Drive
MARYSVILLE (June 4, 2018) – A fatal traffic collision occurred in the area of Highway 70 and Saddleback Drive on Friday afternoon, according to Appeal-Democrat and KRCRTV.
The accident took place around 4:20 p.m. on Highway 70 at Saddleback.
As per the reports, California Highway Patrol said 37-year-old Joseph Watson was driving his 1996 Ford Explorer south when for an unknown reason he made an unsafe turn across the center line into the path of a 1998 Toyota Corolla.

The Ford then collided head-on with the Toyota which was headed north at the time.
CHP affirmed that the driver of the Toyota, a 57-year-old Marysville woman, died as a result of the crash. Her name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, Watson was taken to Rideout Memorial Hospital with injuries described as major. Officials believed that Watson might have been distracted prior to impact.
Both directions of traffic were temporarily shut down following the wreck. The investigation is ongoing.
