3 Killed in Sacramento Crash Highway 99 Near Elverta Road
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (May 6, 2021) – Masla Mani, 68, Manorama Raju, 62, and Nitya Raju, 67, died in a Sacramento car accident on Highway 99 on April 28th.
The 3-vehicle collision happened about 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28th, according to reports by The Sacramento Bee and KCRA News. The three people were riding in a Toyota Corolla, just south of the Elverta Road exit ramp.
The crash took place when a black Mercury Mountaineer rear-ended the silver Toyota Corolla in the No. 2 lane of northbound Highway 99.
Following the collision, the Toyota came to a stop in the No. 2 lane where an oncoming Penske box truck also rear-ended the Corolla.
Multi-Vehicle Collision in Sacramento
Emergency responders rushed to the crash scene where they pronounced the three occupants of the Toyota dead at the scene.
Manorama Raju and Nitya Rajo are both from Antelope and Masla Mani is from Sacramento.
The police report did not state if the driver 62-year-old Butte Valley woman driving the Mercury was hurt. Also, it’s unknown if the 74-year-old San Rafael man driving the truck suffered any injuries in the crash.
Meanwhile, liability for the fatal crash remains to be determined.
