Mat George, 26, Killed in Beverly Grove Hit-and-Run Crash
LOS ANGELES, CA (July 18, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash killed a pedestrian near Croft Avenue and Beverly Boulevard in Beverly Grove.
The coroner’s office identified the 26-year-old Arizona man as the victim of the fatal collision which occurred on Saturday.
The incident began when Matthew “Mat” Thomas George was walking southbound on Croft Avenue in the Beverly Grove community.
At the same time, a vehicle was going east in the No. 1 lane of Beverly Boulevard. For an unknown reason, the driver then struck the pedestrian in an unmarked crosswalk.

Los Angeles police said he ended up thrown in an eastbound direction and hit the roadway. Mat George died at the scene of the Beverly Grove crash.
ABC 7 News and My News LA wrote that the accident took place on July 17 at about 2:20 a.m. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled eastbound.
Officers described the car that slammed into the podcast host as a white colored BMW. The tragic Beverly Grove hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
