JURUPA VALLEY, Calif. (March 9, 2023) — Mateo Salvador, 42, of Riverside, died in a vicious dog attack in Jurupa Valley on Tuesday at a property where he was working at Bellegrave Avenue and Martin Street.
Four dogs living at the property where he was working attacked and killed the man at the home business across the street from Jurupa Valley High School, according to Riverside County Animal Services.

Mateo Salvador worked on the property previously without incident, according to an Animal Services representative.
Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies and Animal Services officers responded to a 911 call around 7:30 a.m. on March 7th.
The property owner was not at the scene at the time of the attack. However, the man returned to his property and later surrendered his four dogs to be euthanized. The property is a home that had been converted into a business.
The animals involved were three Belgian Malinois and one Cane Corso.

There is no known history at this property involving the dogs, according to Animal Services. Also, the dogs were contained on their property at the time of the attack.
“My thoughts and prayers extend to the family of this man as they cope with this tragedy,” said James Johnson, a Riverside County personal injury attorney.
Mateo Salvador leaves behind a wife and five children in Guatemala.
The incident remains under investigation.
