Mathew Eck, 37, Fatally Struck by Vehicle at Stony Point and Occidental Roads

September 17, 2018 – A 37-year-old Santa Rosa man was killed in an alleged hit-and-run collision at the intersection of Stony Point and Occidental roads, according to the Press Democrat.
The fatality was identified as Mathew Thomas Eck.
Officials believed Eck was homeless. It was not immediately clear what the man was doing at the location, but he was reportedly struck by a white compact sedan. The driver of that sedan apparently did not stop following the collision.
Deadly Hit-and-Run Accident Saturday in Santa Rosa
A passing driver, who came upon the body of the victim, called 911 shortly before 9:20 p.m. on Saturday. Responding emergency teams sadly pronounced Eck deceased at the scene.
The suspect car was reportedly last seen heading west on Occidental Road and is thought to have major front-end damage.
