Matthew Himendigger Killed in Pedestrian Accident Main and Seventh Downtown LA

Man Fatally Struck and Dragged by Suspected DUI Driver
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (June 27, 2025) — Matthew Himendigger, 30, died after being struck and dragged by a vehicle in downtown Los Angeles early Saturday morning.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to a report of a traffic collision at the intersection of South Main and East Seventh streets at around 1:53 a.m. on June 21, 2025. The 30-year-old man was found trapped beneath a Toyota Prius.
Emergency crews from the Los Angeles Fire Department pulled Himendigger from under the vehicle and transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Witnesses at the scene reported that the victim was dragged for at least a block before the car came to a stop. The driver of the Prius was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence, police said.
The incident remains under investigation.
