Fatal Car Accident Near Bard Road
Port Hueneme, CA (July 13, 2022) – Matthew Lares, an 18-year-old man, died following a traffic collision that occurred on Ventura Road.
According to Ventura County Star News, two vehicles crashed into each other in the area near Bard Road in Port Hueneme. The force from the impact caused at least one car to roll over multiple times.
The catastrophic incident took place Friday around 4:22 p.m.

Responding medical personnel rendered aid to all parties involved in the wreck. After the evaluation, paramedics confirmed one person sadly died in the accident. The Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office later identified the deceased as Matthew Lares, of Port Hueneme.
Authorities added the the woman driving the second car suffered injuries in the collision. The name of the female motorist, and their condition at this time have not been revealed thus far.
At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise circumstances that led up to the crash on Ventura Road in Port Hueneme.
