Matthew Shannon, 27, Seriously Injured in Grass Valley Crash on Brunswick Road
GRASS VALLEY, CA (September 20, 2021) – Matthew Shannon was seriously injured after a fatal crash on Brunswick Road in Grass Valley.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 27-year-old Lake of the Pines man as one of the victims in the wreck which occurred on Friday.
The incident happened when Matthew Shannon was driving a sedan north on Brunswick Road in Grass Valley. He was traveling behind a Honda Pilot at the time.
For an unknown reason, a southbound minivan then crossed over the double yellow line. Its driver, 34-year-old Kimberly Lumpkins, sideswiped the Honda.

The Pilot went across the lanes near Brunswick Pines Road and plunged down an embankment upon impact. CHP said the sedan became involved in the process.
Matthew Shannon sustained major injuries as a result of the Grass Valley crash. Paramedics rushed him to the Sutter Roseville Medical Center for treatment.
Kimberly Lumpkins, of Grass Valley, died at the scene. The KNCO News wrote that the accident took place on September 17 at about 6:39 p.m.
CHP added that the motorist in the Honda complained of pain following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Grass Valley crash is still under investigation.
