Person Killed in Fatal Crash State Route 18 in Palmdale Area
PALMDALE, Calif. (Nov. 16, 2020) – Maurice C. Hill Jr.,, 19, was killed early Monday morning in a multi-vehicle collision in the community of Llano near Palmdale.
The crash involved a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, a 2008 Mazda 6 and a semi-tractor trailer truck. One of the vehicles was fully engulfed in flames after the crash. The CHP report stated that it was a head-on collision.
Earl H. Quinby was driving a pickup truck westbound on Pearblossom Highway prior to the crash.

Meanwhile, an eastbound Mazda driven by Maurice C. Hill Jr. veered directly into the path of the pickup truck.
The fatal crash took place about 5 a.m. near State Route 18 and 248th Street East, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to treat those who were injured, but sadly Maurice Hill died on scene.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner released the man’s name after notifying his family. Meanwhile, Earl Quinby was injured in the collision. He was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital with major injuries, police said.
Finally, police are heading up the investigation into liability for the crash. Given that, witnesses are asked to contact the CHP.
