Mauricio Millanarzate, 32, Injured in Denair Head-On Crash on Hawkins Road
DENAIR, CA (August 26, 2020) – A driver was hospitalized after a fatal traffic collision along Hawkins Road on Monday afternoon.
According to an article published by The Modesto Bee, officers identified the wounded victim as 32-year-old Merced resident Mauricio Millanarzate.
The incident happened on August 24 when Millanarzate was driving a 2012 Ford pickup northbound on Hawkins Road, north of Keyes Road.
At the same time, a 1999 Acura coupe driven by 20-year-old Miguel Jimenez was allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed south approaching a slower moving vehicle.

The California Highway Patrol said Jimenez then crossed over the double yellow lines to pass the car in front and entered the northbound lane directly into the path of the truck.
The two cars collided head-on. The Acura ended up in the northbound lane while the Ford went off the east shoulder and rolled onto its right side upon impact.
Both vehicles sustained major damage as a result of the 3:45 p.m. crash. Paramedics transported Millanarzate to Oak Valley Hospital with minor injuries.
Medical personnel found Jimenez, of Atwater, unresponsive inside his car following the wreck. They ultimately pronounced him dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the tragic incident remains under investigation.
