Man Killed, Boy Seriously Injured in Crash on Highway 4 Near Tracy Boulevard
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY (February 14, 2020) – Authorities detained the alleged DUI driver in a crash that killed a man and seriously injured a boy along Highway 4 Friday.
California Highway Patrol determined that 54-year-old Mauricio Solorio Garcia was operating a tractor-trailer when the tragic accident occurred.
Officers said Garcia was headed west on Highway 4 near Tracy Boulevard when he crossed over double yellow lines and struck an eastbound SUV head-on.

The semi-truck then sideswiped a minivan. The SUV and the minivan were traveling together when the wreck took place at around 8 a.m.
According to reports by Record Net and KCRA News, paramedics responded and pronounced the 35-year-old man driving the SUV dead at the scene.
An air ambulance transported the passenger in the SUV, an 11-year-old boy, to a nearby hospital with major injuries. The names of the deceased and wounded victims have not been yet released.
CHP did not specify the condition of the other occupants of the SUV and the minivan involved. Meanwhile, Garcia was also hospitalized with moderate injuries.
Authorities later arrested the big rig operator on suspicion of DUI. The tragic incident remains under investigation.
