Maurilio Heredia Herrera, 27, Fatal Victim in Collision Near James Road Sunday
Bakersfield, CA (July 20, 2021) – Maurilio Heredia Herrera, a 27-year-old man, died following a car crash that occurred on Highway 65 on July 10, Sunday.
The KGET News reported a car crash occurred on State Route 65 near James Road. Preliminary investigation revealed Maurilio Herrera was behind the wheel of a Chevy pickup heading north on the highway in Bakersfield.
For an unknown reason, the Chevy pickup crashed head-on into a southbound 2003 Infinity.

Emergency teams responded to the accident scene shortly after midnight. Paramedics later confirmed one person sadly died as a result of the incident. The coroner’s office confirmed the identity of the deceased as Maurilio Herrera.
Several factors surrounding the fatal car crash on Highway 65 remained unclear. Given that, detectives continue to investigate exactly how and why the fatal collision happened.
