Scooter Rider Killed in Huntington Park Hit-and-run Crash
HUNTINGTON PARK, Calif. (Oct. 22, 2018) – Max Rosales Salazar, 28, died in a hit-and-run crash Sunday on Alameda Street as he rode his scooter.
The crash took place about 2 a.m. on Oct. 21. The 30-year-old Hawthorne may who struck the victim was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run, felony drunk driving and vehicular manslaughter.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene initially, but later returned when he realized he left behind his front bumper and license plate at the scene of the crash.
The victim had been riding a “Vespa-type” scooter when the collision took place. There were no further details provided.
The crash remains under investigation by police.
