Maxwell Barrios Arrested in Visalia DUI Crash

2 Injured in Collision on Hillman Street

Visalia, CA (April 3, 2023) – Police arrested 25-year-old Maxwell Barrios following a suspected DUI car crash that occurred on Hillman Street, according to the Sun Gazette News.

Earlier reports indicated a 20-year-old woman was behind the wheel of a 1996 Dodge 1500 traveling south on Hillman. When the Dodge approached the area near Oakdale Avenue, a southbound 2016 Honda HR-V slammed into the rear of the Dodge. The force from the impact caused the pickup to overturn.

According to the article published online, the collision took place on April 2, Sunday, around 2:20 a.m.

DUI Suspect Arrested After Accident in Visalia

Investigators later determined Maxwell Barrios, the driver of the Honda, was intoxicated at the time of the crash. Police eventually arrested Barrios for suspicion of driving under the influence, and transported to the Tulare County Pretrial Adult Facility.

Meanwhile, medical personnel transported the driver and passenger from the Dodge to Kaweah Medical Center for treatment of maojr injuries.

Detectives handling the case continue to work to determine several unclear factors surrounding the DUI crash that happened on Hillman Street in Visalia.
