Maxwell Corotis Killed in Crash on Old Highway 80 in San Diego County

BOULEVARD, Calif. (June 8, 2026) — A 67-year-old San Diego man was killed in a two-vehicle crash late May 29 at an intersection along Old Highway 80 in eastern San Diego County, authorities said.

Emergency crews responded at about 9:48 p.m. on May 29th to the collision at Old Highway 80 and Tierra del Sol Road in the community of Boulevard, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The victim was identified as Maxwell William Corotis of San Diego. Corotis was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 10:05 p.m., officials said.

The crash involved two vehicles, though details about what led to the collision have not been released. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The Medical Examiner’s Office said Corotis died from multiple blunt force injuries, particularly to the chest. His death was ruled an accident, and no contributing medical conditions were identified.

Authorities said Corotis’ next of kin has been notified.
