Suspected DUI Driver in Parlier Crash ID’d as Mayra Sanchez, 28
PARLIER, CA (December 30, 2020) – Authorities detained Mayra Sanchez after a DUI crash at Manning and Bethel avenues in Parlier.
Officials determined the 28-year-old woman was under influence of alcohol when the accident occurred on Tuesday evening.
The incident happened when Mayra Sanchez ran a red signal light at the intersection of Manning and Bethel avenues. She then struck a Parlier Police Department Patrol car.
Drunk Driver Hits Patrol Car, Injures Police Officer
Sanchez finally stopped a short distance away. The police vehicle ended up damage while the officer sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.
Paramedics responded to the scene and took the officer to a hospital for treatment. His name and condition at this time were not released.
Meanwhile, authorities arrested Sanchez and soon booked her into Fresno County Jail on multiple felony charges. The crash occurred on December 29 at about 7:30 p.m.
Sanchez had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants for her arrest for DUI and one for driving on a suspended license for DUI. She is also on probation for driving under the influence.
