2 Seriously Injured in McFarland Crash at Garces Highway and Highway 43
MCFARLAND, Kern County (July 30, 2018) – Two were seriously injured after a traffic collision in the area of Garces Highway and Highway 43 on Monday afternoon, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch team.
As per the report, officials said for an unknown reason a semi-truck and a pickup truck collided at the intersection of Garces Highway and Highway 43. CHP first logged the incident at about 3:16 p.m.
One of the two occupants of the pickup was found outside the vehicle as a result of the wreck. It was not specified if that person was ejected during the crash.

Fire department officials along with the paramedics responded to the scene and attended to the two parties who suffered major injuries upon impact. Kern Golden Empire wrote that both patients were then transported to Kern Medical to for treatment.
The names and condition of the wounded people were not released. Meanwhile, the intersection was initially blocked following the accident but was reopened more than an hour later.
Authorities are still investigating what exactly caused the collision.
