Pedestrian Seriously Injured in McKinleyville Crash at Holly and Central
MCKINLEYVILLE, CA (August 21, 2021) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after a crash at Holly Drive and Central Avenue in McKinleyville.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident took place on Saturday afternoon. Officers reported the incident at about 1:50 p.m.
According to CHP, a green Toyota Highlander struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in McKinleyville. The car hit the person at the intersection of Holly Drive and Central Avenue.
Victim Hit by Car
The victim ended up suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Coast Central Credit Union McKinleyville.
CHP added that driver of the Toyota took the patient to the Mad River Community Hospital for treatment. They did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this moment.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the area of Holly Drive and Central Avenue to shut down for a time following the collision. The cause of the McKinleyville pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
