2 Killed, 2 Injured in Meadowbrook Crash at Highway 74 and Hammack Avenue
MEADOWBROOK, CA (April 10, 2022) – A wrong-way crash killed two men and injured two children at Highway 74 and Hammack Avenue in Meadowbrook.
The Riverside County News Source wrote that the tragic accident took place early Sunday. The California Highway Patrol reported the wreck shortly before 2:30 a.m.
The incident began when a vehicle was traveling the wrong-way in the area of Highway 74 and Hammack Avenue in Meadowbrook.
Wrong-Way Driver Hits Another Car
CHP said the car then slammed head-on into another vehicle in the intersection. Both cars, a dark-colored Ford Mustang and white hatchback, obtained major front-end damage upon impact.
The wrong-way motorist and the driver of the second vehicle died at the scene. Two children riding the victim car sustained minor to serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Paramedics rushed the patients to area hospitals for treatment. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the corner of Highway 74 and Hammack Avenue to shut down for hours following the wreck. The fatal Meadowbrook crash is still under investigation.
