Pedestrian Hit and Injured by Vehicle at 5th and Date Palm Street Friday
Mecca, CA (September 26, 2021) – On September 24, Friday, a suspected hit-and-run crash occurred in the area of 5th and Date Palm Street.
The California Highway Patrol group reportedly received reports of a pedestrian accident that occurred at an intersection in Mecca. The reporter claimed a vehicle struck their niece at the crossing of 5th and Date Palm Street. At this time, the make and model of the automobile involved in the accident remained unknown.
Hit-and-Run Crash in Mecca, September 24
Preliminary investigation revealed the male diver stopped after the collision. The man apparently checked on the female victim. However, he eventually took off without rendering aid to the pedestrian. No immediate information was available on the hit-and-run suspect.
Meanwhile, the name of the injured pedestrian and their age remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
Detectives stayed at the scene the whole evening to investigate several factors surrounding the hit-and-run car crash at 5th and Date Palm Street.
