Pedestrian Killed in Crash on Lincoln Street

MECCA, Calif. (Feb. 14, 2024) — A fatal pedestrian accident happened Wednesday in Mecca at Lincoln Street and 64th Avenue.

The collision occurred at around 12:47 p.m. on Feb. 14th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials reported a driver in a gray Toyota Camry struck a pedestrian on Lincoln Street at 64th Street, just east of Hammond Road and Highway 111.

Cal Fire responded with paramedics and requested an air ambulance to transport the victim to a hospital due to major injuries. However, the victim later died from their injuries.

Authorities closed down Lincoln Street between 64th Street and Hammond Road due to the crash.

The case remains under investigation to determine fault.
