Melvin Chivas Killed in Pinon Hills Crash
PINON HILLS, Calif. (Oct. 10, 2017) — Melvin Boyd Chivas, 51, of Pinon Hills was struck and killed Monday night in a collision on State Route 138 near Oasis Road, according to a report by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner.
The crash was reported about 10:42 p.m. last night.
The California Highway Patrol responded to investigate a report about a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. The Pinon Hills man, had been walking in the eastbound lane of State Route 138 when a vehicle struck him.
The San Bernardino County Fire Department rushed to the scene, but Chivas died of his injuries.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the fatal crash.
