MENDOCINO COUNTY, California (March 23, 2017) – A major injury collision occurred on Highway 20 at Road 144 Sunday, March 19, according to Lake County News.
The accident involving two vehicles took place just before 2 p.m.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said 69-year-old Robert Davidson was driving a tan 2007 Honda CRV on Road 144 toward Highway 20 when at the same time a white 2005 Ford Ranger driven by 62-year-old Kim Boehm was headed east on the highway, approaching Road 144.
Davidson, of Lucerne, for an unknown reason entered Highway 20, directly into the path of the Ford. Both failed to avoid the crash as the pickup struck the left front end of the Honda.
The impact forced the Ford into an easterly direction and to roll over. The truck subsequently came to a rest on its right side.
CHP affirmed that McKinleyville resident Boehm was seriously injured and was taken to the hospital for treatment. His two dogs riding in his car at the time were reported missing following the wreck but were later located.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident.
