At Least 1 Hospitalized After Collision on W Side Freeway Friday
Mendota, CA (September 17, 2021) – A traffic accident involving a semi truck occurred on Interstate 5, also known as W Side Freeway, the California Highway Patrol group reported.
Initial records indicated a big rig pulling a dry box trailer crashed in the northbound side of the freeway. For an unknown reason, the truck overturned and landed on its side.
Officials said the collision took place near Mountain View Avenue in Mendota.
Injury Truck Accident in Mendota, September 17
Shortly after 2:47 a.m., emergency crews arrived at the crash site. First responders found two male parties standing near the wreckage. Medical personnel immediately rendered aid to both men. After the evaluation, paramedics transported at least one patient with head injuries to the hospital for further treatment. Authorities continue to withhold the name of the injured party pending confirmation.
Several factors surrounding the car and truck accident in Mendota remained unclear. Given that, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the collision.
