MERCED: Travis Lindsay and Maburn Rodriguez Killed in Crash Accident Highway 99
MERCED, California (March 8, 2017) — Per the Modesto Bee, Travis Lindsay, 23, of Chowchilla, has been identified as one of the three victims who suffered fatal injuries in a crash Wednesday morning.
The collision occurred right around 7:30 a.m. on Highway 99 when two vehicles collided head-on.
Authorities confirmed that the vehicles involved were a black Ford SUV and a Chevy Silverado.
Per the Modesto Bee, the driver of the Chev Silverado had been headed southbound before entering northbound lanes for unknown reasons and colliding head-on with Travis Lindsay the driver of the Ford.
Both the driver and passenger in the Silverado suffered fatal injuries. They were identified in Merced Sun-Star as 53-year-old Mark Wilmer and 52-year-old Maburn Rodriguez, respectively. Both were from Modesto.
Meanwhile, Lindsay was identified by the Merced County Coroner.
No further details have been released at this time regarding what caused the Chevy driver to enter opposite traffic lanes. Toxicology reports will be taken to confirm that drugs or alcohol were non-contributors.
