Major Injury Collision on Los Banos Highway Tuesday
Merced, CA (June 8, 2021) – A traffic accident that occurred on State Route 59 resulted in injuries Tuesday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol group reported.
Officials said a white big rig and a gray passenger vehicle collided on SR-59, also known as Los Banos Highway. For reasons still unclear, the two automobiles crashed near the Sandy Mush Road in Merced.

Shortly after 2:25 p.m., medical personnel arrived at the site and found one person trapped in the wrecked gray car. Responding firefighters worked extensively to extricate the victim. After rescue teams freed the party pinned in the Toyota Camry, they treated them for major injuries.
Additional details on the car and truck accident in Merced remained undisclosed. At this time, investigators continue to work to determine the precise circumstances that led to the collision.
