Major Injury Car Crash on Golden State Highway Wednesday
Merced, CA (April 7, 2021) – The California Highway Patrol group reported a car accident that occurred on State Route 99, also known as Golden State Highway, Wednesday afternoon.
Initial records indicated two vehicles collided on Highway 99 near Franklin Road offramp. The force from the impact caused the blue Chevrolet pickup truck to rollover on the highway in Merced. Officials described the other vehicle involved in the crash as a black Hyundai Sonata.
Shortly before 5 p.m., medical personnel arrived at the site and rendered aid to all possible victims. The CHP dispatch confirmed at least one person suffered major injuries as a result of the collision.
Suspected Hit-and-Run Collision in Merced, April 7
Authorities later disclosed a third vehicle involved in the accident fled the scene. Details on the hit-and-run suspect and their location at this time have not been revealed thus far.
Further investigation on the car accident in Merced is underway.
