1 Killed in Merced County Crash at Henry Miller Avenue and Cherokee Road
MERCED COUNTY, CA (October 15, 2022) – A crash killed at least one person at Henry Miller Avenue and Cherokee Road in Merced County.
The California Highway Patrol said the tragic accident took place late Saturday night. Officers reported the wreck at about 11:44 p.m.
The incident happened when two big rigs hauling tomatoes collided for an unknown reason in Merced County. The semi-trucks crashed at the intersection of Henry Miller Avenue and Cherokee Road.
2 Big Rigs Collide
The dispatch added that one of the trucks rolled onto its side due to the impact of the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near Santa Nella.
Medical personnel pronounced one individual dead as a result of the incident. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, officers forced the area of Henry Miller and Cherokee to shut down for a time following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Merced County crash is still under investigation.
